Share useful advice without passing on false certainty
Good advice includes the original question, the source and its limits. Sharing a link does not make you responsible for deciding another adult’s preferences.
Ask whether advice is wanted
Someone may want to be heard rather than given a purchase suggestion. Ask before sending an intimate guide. Do not infer consent to discuss a topic from a previous conversation or disclose another person’s experience as an example.
Keep the claim narrow
Say that a manual explains cleaning or that an article helped you understand terminology. Avoid claiming an item will fix desire, pain or a relationship. A source about a general health topic does not prove a retail product works for an individual.
Leave the recipient in control
Offer information without a deadline, quiz or follow-up expectation. They can ignore it, ask a professional or decide differently. If you discover an error, share the correction and source rather than defending the original recommendation because it was yours.
Content responsibility: inherit.ai; corrections contact: [email protected]. Content revised .
Before you decide
Have I passed on the uncertainty and the freedom to disagree as clearly as the recommendation?
Sources and the limits of this guide
The source notes identify what each reference supports. Comparison steps and example wording are editorial guidance. No hands-on testing, clinical review or approval by these organizations is claimed.
- RAINN: Consent 101 — Respect, Boundaries, and Building Trust
Supports clear, voluntary, ongoing agreement and the freedom to stop. Conversation examples here are editorial suggestions, not therapy or legal advice.
- FTC: Online Shopping
Supports checking exact models, seller terms, total cost, returns and privacy policies. US consumer guidance; it does not test any product.
- Brown University BWell: Sex Toys
Supports checking condition, stopping when use hurts, discussing boundaries and following manufacturer care instructions. It does not establish a safe size or guarantee suitability.
Source links and relevant sections checked . This is a reference check date, not the source publication date or a clinical review.
For adults 18+. General education only. Health symptoms and treatment questions require individual qualified advice. To report an error, email [email protected] with the page and the detail that needs checking; do not send private health records.
